The Building for Kids

Last Wednesday we had our friend Christine's daughter Codi for the day. We couldn't just sit around the house all day...that would be "boring". So off we went to The Building For Kids in Appleton. What a fun time for the kids! There's a 2 story tree house, Doll hospital, minature sized Kwik Trip, Firetruck, Airplane, Construction site, indoor gym, indoor golf...the list goes on and on. We spent a good 2 1/2 hours there and if it wasn't for Carter getting tired we could have spent another 2 hours! Here's just a few pics from the day!
Codi and Avery
The ball room...this was Avery's favorite!
The Davinci Studio....we made butterfly mobiles and chinese masks
The water room...complete with rain coats!!! This was Carter's favorite!
The girls in the water room
Avery had so much fun dressing up in different costumes throughout the day and it got me thinking...."What will my daughter be when she grows up?"....

A construction worker?????
Will she take after Papa Herbie and cousin Tyler????
A doctor???
Or a little housewife like her mama???

Carter just loved Codi!!! Here's a snapshot of the 2 of them when we got home from the museum....all tuckered out and cuddling up on the couch

Green Gold Bold

Jason and my very good friend's Mitch and Erin got 4 tickets to the first pre-season Packer game and asked us to join them....how could we turn down 8th row tickets!!?? Unfortunately for some reason, I didn't get any pictures of us...but I got some pretty good ones of the Pack and Lambeau! Even zoomed in enough to get one of the famous Packer Pope! Jason and I also saw the famous Fence Painter, but we were in such a rush to get to the game I didn't have time to stop and take a picture! : (
Thanks Shelly for watching the kids! : )
Thanks Mitch and Erin for the great seats!! We owe you! : )

And here are your GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!
The Packer Pope!

Now THAT'S a sass-age!

This pic is for my brother! This guy parked right next to us! Must have been there for Jordy Nelson! : )

And last but not least....this song put a smile on my face when it started playing....took me back to my 8th grade dance! But then the Pack started dancing! They were all dancing at one point, but once I got my camera rolling, there were only a few left! It's still fun though!

Kohler Andre State Park

We left Loyal on Sunday morning and while everyone else drove down to Sheboygan Falls to Margie's house on Monday, we just stayed home and had some downtime. Tuesday morning the kids and I got up bright and early, packed up the van and drove down to join in some more fun. Kohler Andre State Park is less than 15 minutes from Margie's house and we couldn't have asked for a better day to go! Lake Michigan wasn't even that cold! The kids had a blast...and the adults did too! : )

The Playhouse

22 years ago Dad set out to make his favorite little girl's dream come true! That'd be my dream...haha! He built me a playhouse for our backyard. That same playhouse, with many of the same toys still stands in my parents backyard and has sure kept me, and all of my 8 nieces, nephews and now my own children and great-niece entertained throughout the years.

Every one of Mom and Dad's grandchildren have had their pictures taken while sitting on the step in front of the playhouse.
Honey...I'm home!

Dad's Day celebration

After the ceremony at the Highground we went back to Loyal for a big old fashioned Langfeldt BBQ! The kids had a great time running through the slip n slide, cruising around on the bikes and scooters, and playing in the Play house. The adults had fun just sitting around relaxing, drinking some adult beverages and chatting. And of course we all had full bellies by the end of the day! Mike, Shelly, Margie and I took some fun "sibling" pics too....as soon as I get them from Mike I'll post them on here too!

Mike trying out Dad's scooter! Haha!
Carter and Jaelyn ready for a walk
Avery and Michael playing at the Park
Dad and Avery on the scooter, we walked to the cemetary to say Hi to Grandma Hansen
It wouldn't be a Langfeldt BBQ without fireworks!! : )

Dad's Day at the Highground

For those of you who don't know, my Dad has been through some pretty bad health problems the last few years. He's had colon cancer, leukemia, multiple myaloma (I think that's how you spell it), 2 knee transplants, 2 strokes and shingles. The last stroke wasa real doozy and scared all of us. He's the strongest man I've ever known and has fought them all one by one. For Father's Day this year we wanted to do something really special. He's on the board for The Highground, a Veteran's Memorial in Neillsville, WI. It's really quite the place, very moving. They have Legacy stones you can purchase and dedicate to a veteran, which they lay in the pathways around the Highground. There is no one we know who deserves one more than my dad. This last Saturday my whole family got together for the first time in years and dedicated a stone to Dad. Here's a few pictures from the ceremony. They placed 27 stones that day and it was HOT outside! But we were all troopers! : )

My nephew Michael leading the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance
Avery Jean keeping cool
